School Games -

We work with the School Games organisation as it's values link in really well with our 'Filby Way' values. Being part of this and our local East Norfolk School Sports Partnership enables us to enter inter-school events that encourage our children to grow to love Sport and above all adopt a healthy lifestyle.

With the approaching Commonwealth Games this year, we will be accessing the resources available through the School Games to further inspire our children!

East Norfolk Cross-Country

On Thursday 23rd February we had 28 children take part in the East Norfolk Cross Country Festival at Bure Park.  Once again, it was amazing to witness how well the children represented the school with impeccable behaviour, great passion and enthusiasm. For some, it was their first experience of competitive cross country running and we were thrilled by the resilience and enjoyment shown. We also had some outstanding performances with Orson, Toby and Yvonne coming 1st, 6th and 8th, respectively in their Year 6 races and Alba finishing 2nd in the Year 4 girls race!

Girls Cluster Football - 

Well done to our Year 4, 5 and 6 girls footballers who took part in a football tournament at North Denes Primary School on the 7th February 2023. They won two matches and lost three, playing with desire, passion and above all fairness. For some it was their first experience of competitive football and they improved vastly as the games progressed. Well done girls, the Filby footballing future is bright!

Evolution Shield

On Wednesday 15th June 2022 we took some children from Years 1 to Year 6 to the inaugural Evolution Academy Trust Athletics Shield held at Elmtree Primary School in Lowestoft. Our children had a great day and, as ever, represented the school with exceptionally good behaviour and commitment. We even had some of the furthest throws and quickest running times in the trust!

Well done to all of our children who took part in the East Norfolk School Sports Partnership Cross Country Championship - a fantastic demonstration of our 'Filby Way' values by all. We even have have six of our children progressing to the county finals!

Well done to our footballers who represented the school extremely well at the East Norfolk School Sports Partnership Girls Football Tournament! We had two teams who demonstrated all our school values and those of the school games. Our teams finished 4th and 6th out of 10 teams; well done girls!
