PE at Filby Primary -
Physical Education (PE) at Filby Primary School fosters a lifelong love of sport and encourages a healthy and active lifestyle. Our children are taught Respect for each other through competitive team games and extracurricular tournaments and festivals. Not only this, but they have to be Caring to enable them to support others who might be learning the important process of how to lose. The playing of team games and activities means that children develop an Inclusive nature, ensuring that their peers are involved in all aspects of their games.
Our children learn a range of sports and activities, not limited to the usual school options. We offer the opportunity to participate in different activities and learn new skills such as sailing, fencing, badminton, yoga and Quidditch. This raises the children’s Aspiration, enabling them to develop their ‘niche’ that they can pursue in later life. The teaching of safe use of specialist equipment such as Gymnastics apparatus develops the Responsible nature of our future Filby citizens. PE is at the core of our development of physically healthy citizens.
