We teach French for our Languages programme of study in Key Stage 2 as it prepares the children for the next phase of their education after leaving us. 

We aim for our children to leave here with a good basic knowledge of not only the language but also develop their curiosity and deepen their understanding of the world. The children learn how to talk about their families, friends and home life, demonstrating their caring personalities. Also, our children are taught to be inclusive, learning about the broad range of countries and cultures that use the French language. By providing this opening to other cultures, not only are the children being inclusive and responsible learners but also aspirational, seeing that their learning can open many possibilities of travel and careers.
