We want children at Filby Primary School to develop an understanding of the nature, processes and methods of science through different types of inquiry that help them to answer scientific questions about the world and their universe. With this in mind, we aim to foster an attitude of care, respect and responsibility for the world around them. ‘Working Scientifically’ skills are built upon throughout their time at our school.   This practical approach to science  (wherever possible) ensures that the subject is inclusive. An acquisition of knowledge through the Programmes of Study and an appreciation of the work of scientists and scientific discovery means that children can aspire to regard themselves as scientists.
